I think it is very necessary for a small towns or business to consider a sustainability plan. For starters to see how much waste they are producing. By eliminating the amount of waste produced, they could save money and contribute to cleaning up the environment. For small towns resources are limited, having a sustainability plan set in place can extend the resources. For businesses having a sustainability plan can also help with limited resources and the reputation of the business. Some of the cost savings small towns can obtain are energy and water. They can do this by changing all street and traffic lights to energy efficient bulbs. By getting the whole community to support the sustainability plan, the can achieve even more savings by having residents change all household bulbs to energy efficient bulbs. Residents can also change their appliance to energy efficient ones to keep the energy cost down for the entire town. Also, if the town gave rebates to residents who changed their faucets and toilets to energy efficient ones could lower the towns water cost. Preserving natural resources can be beneficial to small towns. Conserving wetlands can recharge underground water supplies. Maintaining the wilderness can help with keep building materials in high supply. These methods can help a town be more sustainable and preserve their natural resources to keep them healthy and productive. The Changes In The Character Bamforth In the Malayan jungle in 1942 a british patrol is cut off from its base camp by the advancing Japanese. This play explores what happpens when ordinary men have to confront the reality of war: can they kill another human being? When the patrol first captures the Japanese prisoner, Bamforth is the only one (apart from Mitchem and Johnstone) who is willing to kill the prisoner. The point when he gains all this respect is when: MITCHEM: Its a war. Its something in a uniform and its a different shade from mine. . BAMFORTH: Hes a man! The above quote shows the point when bamforth gets respect from the readerss and also shows that Bamforth has quickly realised that the Japanese soldier is a man like himself not some animal like he first thought, the prisoner has grown on him. In conclusion I would say that at the beginning of th play Bamforth seems pretty shallow, arrogant, and full of it but you just cant hate him. Then you dislike him when he compares the prisoner to a pig. But at the very end you have mases of respect for Bamforth and you feel sorry for him because nobody will take his side and save the Japanese soldier. My final opinion of The Long and The Short and The Tallis not very good, if you like the play that is. I think that the way the platoon calls the Japanese Japs or Nips is racist and would be hurtful if you were Japanese. To this I understood that the American member really did not had the intention to disrespect him. However the Asians believe in authority based accomplishments as the they mainly follow authority based leadership styles where they believe in maintaining a certain distance between the juniors and the seniors.
